Amblyopia Therapy
Amblyopia (Lazy Eye) is a developmental disorder where one eye has reduced vision because the brain and eye are not working together properly. It usually begins in early childhood.
Causes
- Strabismus: The most common cause; when the eyes are misaligned, the brain may ignore input from the weaker eye.
- Refractive Errors: Significant differences in vision between the two eyes can lead to amblyopia.
- Cataract: Clouding of the lens in one eye during early childhood can result in amblyopia.
- Ptosis (Droopy Eyelid): If the eyelid obstructs vision, it can prevent normal visual development in that eye.
Symptoms
- Poor Depth Perception: Difficulty judging how far away objects are.
- Favoring One Eye: A child may frequently use one eye over the other.
- Squinting or Closing One Eye: Particularly when trying to focus on an object.
- Head Tilt: The child may tilt their head to see better, compensating for poor vision in one eye.
Treatment Options
- Glasses: Correcting refractive errors to improve the weaker eye’s focus.
- Patching: Covering the stronger eye to force the brain to use the weaker eye.
- Atropine Drops: Blurs the vision in the stronger eye, encouraging use of the weaker eye.
- Vision Therapy: Exercises designed to improve the visual skills of the weaker eye.

I would like to sincerely thank the entire team at the clinic for the outstanding care, professionalism, and kindness I received throughout my entire journey. A very special thank you goes to Dr. Sherif Emeram for his exceptional work. My ICL surgery was a complete success. The procedure was completely painless, much faster than I had imagined, and I felt safe and well cared for every step of the way. I can now see clearly without glasses or contact lenses. Although I am still recovering, I am already incredibly happy with the results I have achieved. This surgery has truly changed my life for the better in a way I never thought possible. Thank you, Dr. Sherif Emeram, and thank you to the entire team for making this life-changing experience such a positive one. I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic to anyone considering ICL surgery.Posted on Google HAZIM ALNAOURYTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you for healing my sightPosted on Google Chagla YabaniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went for a LASIK consultation but the Dr was very impatient and didn’t answer any of my questions and did not even give an opportunity to ask. All they want is to take me to the surgery without knowing anything about it or if there exist other alternatives.Posted on Google Shahbaz SarwarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
